Framework Laptop 16 review: A modular marvel, but a mediocre gaming laptop
Framework has achieved a remarkable feat by building a gaming laptop where you can replace practically every component. It’s a dream for gadget geeks, it’s just a shame it’s not a great gaming laptop.

The RTX 4070 Super delivers far better 1440p and 4K performance compared to the original card, making it NVIDIA’s best value for mid-range GPUs at $599.

Steam Deck LCD review (2023): Still one of the best handheld PCs
The 256GB Steam Deck LCD is a fantastic entry-level portable PC from Valve, and it's only gotten better with age. Anyone who feels left behind by the OLED model, it'll be OK.
Jessica Conditt11.25.2023 Alan Wake II is great, but it doesn't need guns
Alan Wake II is fantastic. Remedy calls the game its "first foray into the survival horror genre'— which makes its reliance on guns perplexing.

PlayStation Portal review: A baffling handheld for no one but Sony diehards
The Portal is a handheld meant for the PlayStation 5 faithful. It can only stream games from your PS5, and your experience with it is entirely determined by your network connection.

Steam Deck OLED review: It's just better
The Steam Deck OLED is the facetuned, photoshopped, spit-shined version of Valve’s handheld, featuring an updated display, faster charging, improved antennas, better thermals and smoother haptics.
Jessica Conditt11.10.2023 World of Horror is a skin-crawling dread machine that does its inspirations proud
Point-and-click RPG World of Horror was released on on Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch this month after years in Early Access. It's heavily influenced by the works of Junji Ito and HP Lovecraft, and players must solve five mysteries while trying to save the people of Shiokawa, Japan from the Old Gods.

Sam Rutherford10.20.2023Marvel's Spider-Man 2 review: The rare game that's both bigger and better
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 continues in the tradition of the excellent Spidey games that preceded it, but makes just about everything bigger and better.
Nathan Ingraham10.16.2023The Fabulous Fear Machine is a delicious pulp game about the horrors of propaganda
The Fabulous Fear Machine is a pulp horror RTS game that feels like Tales from the Crypt, but with propaganda as the target subject. It’s kitsch, it’s camp, and I adore it.
Jessica Conditt10.13.2023Assassin's Creed Mirage review: A warm, bloody hug from an old friend
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a solid return to the early days of the open-world adventure series. While the story is fairly pedestrian, Ubisoft's back-to-basics approach freshens up a franchise that has been bogged down by RPG elements in recent years.
Kris Holt10.11.2023The Talos Principle 2 is the ideal blend of puzzle and story
The first quarter of The Talos Principle 2 features devilish puzzles and deep dialogue trees, set in a gorgeous sci-fi world.
Jessica Conditt10.06.2023Cocoon is a near-perfect puzzle game that everyone should play
Cocoon is a game I can (and will) recommend to anyone that plays video games, and plenty who don’t. Perhaps my only complaint is that I want more.

The Nitro Deck improves the Switch in ways I didn’t know I wanted. I may never connect my Joy-Cons again.

LG 49 UltraGear gaming monitor review: Ultrawide nirvana
LG's UltraGear 49 is 49-inches of ultrawide gaming nirvana.
Devindra Hardawar09.14.2023 Starfield review: You will like some of it
Starfield has moments of beauty, but it features just as many instances of drudgery and disconnection in its main quest line. Playing on pre-release code on Xbox Series S, these issues are only exacerbated by chugging framerates, low-resolution set pieces and roughly one hard crash every five hours. Starfield is big and largely bland, and while it gets some open-world gameplay aspects right, it doesn’t offer anything new for the sci-fi or RPG genres.
Jessica Conditt09.01.2023Armored Core VI review: FromSoftware's latest challenge is surprisingly approachable
If you’re curious if there’s something here for you, the short answer is a resounding yes. However, as with almost all of From’s games, a little – okay, a lot – of patience goes a long way.
